Calcium Channel Blocker ToxicologyDepartments of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics, Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan, mhedge{at}dmc.org Calcium channel blockers are commonly prescribed antihypertensive medications in the United States and as such are a common presenting ingestion. The pharmacology and mechanism of action of this class of drugs will be discussed. The clinical presentation and therapeutic options will be reviewed.
