The challenges and opportunities involved in the emergence and regulation of pharmaceutical specialties are discussed in relationship to the historical and current developments regarding nuclear pharmacy. The issues of the state board of pharmacy v federal regulation of the practice of pharmacy, drug use control in institutions, and education and training of specialists are explored. The interaction of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) with professional nuclear pharmacy groups in addressing these issues is described.

This is a US government work. There are no restrictions on its use.
